AMD athlon 64 x2 4800+ (brisbane) 100c temp

Solution
whoah thats way too hot. stop playing games until you fix this :/ I'm guessing this has stock heatsink and cooler on the CPU.

1) check fan is spinning (!) remove fan and heatsink, clean all the fluff and crap out.
2) use surgical spirit (rubbing alcohol) and coffee filter paper to clean the thermal paste residue from the bottom of the heatsink and the top of the CPU
3) reapply thermal paste (just a small amount) and reattach heatsink and fan.
4) power up and check temps, let us know how it goes.
