Bios settings not loading and weird pixelation during boot

So I decided I want to overclock my CPU, when I attempted going into the bios I was greeted with an empty screen with only the placeholder flashing in the top left corner. I attempted to fix the issue by updating the bios(Gigabyte) using the @Bios utility. My motherboard is GA-880GA-UD3H. This did not fix the issue and only caused everything to be worse. Now during the first 3 seconds of the system boot the whole screen is pixelated with many colours and when it finally loads the desktop, the tune that plays is distorted. Past that the systems seems to be operating normally. I should also add I reverted the bios in the same way to the version it was previously at but the problem remained. I am scared I might have done some damage to the Bios. Does anyone know what the issue might be?

Yes, I'm using a R9 285 GPU.
I remember the Bios working the last time I was using it.
I did not manage to do any overclocking since I couldn't get the Bios to load.

Well this is a difficult one.
Be warned that a diagnostics on this may cause your system to stop working completely.
Since the video signal uses the basic driver there is a slight chance that the GPU is at fault (you can verify this by taking out the GPU and using the integrated one).
Now if it's a BIOS issue and you have successfully updated the BIOS the only thing keeping your system alive are the settings saved in the BIOS and/or the software being installed on default BIOS settings.
If you are sure that the above is true then you can try a CMOS reset by stopping the power supply and taking out the battery.
You can also try a forced BIOS reset by taking out a DIMM with the system turned off but the PSU powered on.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for your input.
Since I couldn't access the bios, I tried overclocking the cpu with EasyTune6. I pumped it up to 3.8 GHz from 3.2GHz. I changed the voltage from 1.4V to 1.45V. And then I ran a stress test. Before the temperatures during stress were around 21C and now they are at around 17C !! How is this even possible! I was expecting much higher temperatures.

It shouldn't be possible. Normal running temps in idle are at about 40C with normal airflow cooling. You might have a read error on your temperature sensors.
