Hello,

My computer is freezing and a loud buzzing sort of sound is coming out of the speakers a few minutes after I turn it on. I thought it may have been because I was running a game and watching a flash video at the same time but I didn't do that today and the problem still occurred. I have a restart button on my computer next to the power button. If I press this button the computer will turn on and I won't have any problems. I ran a scan on my ram and found no errors, all of my drivers are up to date, I recently ran a full virus scan and it turned up nothing, and my CPU is running at 45 C which I believe to be under its limits. I'm not sure what to do at this point. The fact that when I restart it and everything works fine is what is making it difficult and different from other posts I'm finding.

I'll post the specs on my machine if requested but I don't know them off the top of my head and I don't want to turn on my PC again unless I have to.

I am running windows 7 64 bit and have a Radeon HD 5770 graphics card but that's all I know off the top of my head.

Thank you

You most likely have some HDD errors. A full format and Windows reinstall on your main Hard Disk should do the trick.
Note that the problem will not be fixed forever and will also return very soon if you only do a partition format.

I've had the issue when my NTFS partition table was corrupted by a read/write error. HDDs go bad over time but this was over 2 years ago and my HDD still works fine.
I also see the issue when I stumble upon my PC (it happens).
Your HDD should not be bad and a full format should fix the issue.

Awesome. I'll give that a try. I was really hoping it wasn't a HDD issues because I did recently have one of those to the point where I had to replace it and getting a new new one would be terrible.
