Looking to move my router to my room

Hello, I've tried moving my router to my room upstairs but it seems to have a white cable with a pin shape on it that needs to be connected. I think it is connected to the phone line aswell but without it i get no internet connection. Is there anyway i can bring my router upstairs without having that pin cable connected or not?

your router will need to be connected to your modem via the WAN port, else you will be unable to receive an Internet connection.

I assume you have cable as opposed to dsl. If the is correct you need the coax cable connected. Do you have a coax jack in your room?

I'm guessing you're talking about this:

That's a coaxial cable and it needs to be connected. If your room doesn't have one you need to call your ISP to send out a guy to set up a coaxial connection in your room.

yeah thats the one, any idea how much it costs to have a port fitted?
