Motherboard: X99S Gaming 9 ACK
CPU: Intel i7 5960X Extreme
Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H100i All-In-One
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz
GPU: 3x Asus STRIX GTX 980 Graphics Card (4GB)
PSU: Corsair Axi 1200W Fully Modular 80+ Platinum Power Supply
Case: CM Storm Trooper
I'm building that system for a friend, I'm not new to building PC's although I don't do it as much as I'd like and this is my first multi GPU system too.
After installing everything and failing to get any display on the screen I began to trouble shoot the issue, I stripped it back to 1 RAM stick and 1 GPU, tested them in each slot then decided to check the CPU, turns out there's a bent pin on the mobo.
After speaking to the retailer they told me I'm outa luck because I seated a CPU already they can't help and apparently neither will MSI, although I will contact them myself to see if they can maybe fix the board at a lower cost than a full replacement if needed.
not being able to instantly replace a £300 motherboard I got the magnifying glass and pin out and tried to fix the bent pin issue myself, looks good, the pin seems to be in line with the rest now and I cant see anything out of place, but the system still isn't working.
There is a light on the motherboard to indicate it needs a CMOS reset, so I reset it, the light is off and tried again, still no display, I'm getting the error code 64 from the motherboard, the book says this is "Late CPU Initialization".
Any suggestions or help on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Kev
