Hello everyone I am currently trying to decide which case to buy for my setup, my cash limit is around $200. I'm looking for something that is efficient of course but also a case that is fairly attractive externally as well. I have a few cases I found that I thought were kinda cool but you don't have to choose from them, they are just a few I found while looking through newegg. I'm assuming with my setup, that I will need a Full Tower Case but i'm fairly new to this.

My second question is what, in your opinion, is the best CPU Cooler? It doesn't necessarily have to look amazing I just want efficiency. Also, are liquid CPU Coolers safe to use? I've always been afraid that they will burst in my case and ruin everything lol.

thanks in advance,
- Kris

Solution
You don't need a full tower, any regular ATX case will work. So many mid towers are options as well. In my opinion, full tower cases are too big.

- Anything Rosewill concerns / worries me. They may a whole lot of garbage, so even stuff that reviews I still don't trust.
- I've had four different Antec cases at this point, and all have been very good quality, with very good air flow.
- Corsair cases (not in your list, but they have some good looking cases) have generally been much thinner / flimsier than I would expect for a cases in the price range I've bought from them. This generally makes me look at other cases first as well.
- Generally Thermaltake is regarded as "cheaper" stuff as well.
- Out of your list I would lean towards...

As a side note on your build, I would upgrade the WD blue drive to a Black drive, faster, and much longer warranty.

As for the CPU cooler, depends on if you want to overclock or not. I assume you do since you bought a K / Z97 combo. The EVO 212 is a cheaper cooler, and would be alright for a mild overclock. Otherwise you can go the Noctua (NH-D14 or NH-D15) route, if you budget allows. They would be high end air coolers. As for the AIO water cooling solutions, it's rare for them to leak. However I went back to an air cooler on my new build after a H80i dumped coolant everywhere in my 3570K build. I lost everything except the hard drives, and CD drive.

It's very, very rare to see a liquid cooler leak unexpectedly. I have the Corsair H75 and is very effective at cooling my CPU down. Air cooling is more reliable and can even defeat a liquid cooler in terms of cooling potential, but some can be very tall and wide, thus compatibility is an issue. A Noctual NH-U12S is an excellent air cooler. Easy to set up, built like a freaking panzer tank and cools incredibly well whilst being virtually silent, if you like the color of the fan that is.

Onto your case dilemma. You really don't need a full size case for your system. That motherboard will fit any mid tower case on the market. My recommendation, a Fractal Design Define S. Its a very silent case, has bags of watercooling potential and looks elegant. All being cheaper than all the cases you have on show. Looks don't make the case. I learned that the very hard way with my first build, which the case looked awesome, but the metal felt like it was gonna shear every time I screwed the panels in.

No, don't use the stock cooler on that nice of a board lol (it was designed for OCing)!
If I were you id personally buy these items below:

CPU Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

In my opinion i just love this case, it can fit up to 3 full size GPUs and still have 2 slots left open and is actually quite small! ( I just love this little shit <3 )

But with your GPU you're getting it can fit in only certain cases, but i will arrange a list of the best cheap to expensive cases that range from mid tower to full tower for you to choose from instead of those other full towers.

$70 ($60 after $10 mail in rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139026&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

[$110 on sale!] ($90 after $20 mail in rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139042&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Full Tower $100+ (arranged in order from least - most expensive)

The cases you selected are actually all decent and if you bought them, there really wouldn't be any issues. You don't NEED a Full Tower to house all this, but the extra room makes it easy for assembling and upgrading. The problem with says "Hey, buy this case" is that there is always aesthetic opinions. My opinions may differ from yours, but I'm going to try to give you cases that are of good quality and have a stable brand name (i.e. Corsair and NZXT).

http://bit.ly/1LfzdWg - Corsair 750D (Rather large, high quality materials, and good price.)
http://bit.ly/1c75wur - NZXT H440 (Decent size, REALLY sleek/clean look, high quality materials, "silent" case, comes in a variety of colors/flavors, and good price.) You'd have to buy an external optical drive if you need to install your OS.
http://amzn.to/1Ahbt3E - Corsair 780T (Fairly large, high quality, decent looking, lots of room to work with, tons of features, somewhat clean look, and an okay price.)

Those are some of my personal favorites and would actually purchase these if I had the money to. Granted, whatever case you choose, make sure you like it and won't have a problem staring at it a lot! We all know we like to marvel at our completed builds from time to time!

As for the CPU cooler, there really isn't much to say. It all depends on what type of cooling you want. No, water cooling is not dangerous. There is a very, very, very, VERY low change that anything will just bust and ruin everything. Nothing will go wrong if you properly install the cooler, which there are very detailed tutorials online on how to do so.

If you feel confident enough to go with water cooling then there's one that stands out among the crowd:

http://bit.ly/1rcNcSQ - Corsair H100i ($100, so make sure the case you buy is also around this much or lower. Great quality and reliable.)

There's a much more cost effective way to spend money on a CPU cooler and get great temperatures too!

http://bit.ly/19hF9uw - Hyper 212 EVO (This thing is less than $30 and will cool your CPU for life and still give good temperatures.)

People may say I'm a little Corsair biased and I could partially agree, but that's only because they provide very good quality products. But if I were you, I would personally go with a good quality case, such as the ones I listed above, and buy the Hyper 212 EVO.

Side Note: You will have to apply thermal paste to your processor before installing the Hyper 212 EVO.)
