bought two 4gb Samsung (m471b5273dh0-ck0) pc3-12800s-11 for my Toshiba p75-a7100 - it won't start with them installed but works perfectly with the 8 gigs hardwired at factory - wrong memory or something wrong with these two sticks

Yes. The ram has to be low voltage (1.35). Most of the times it has a letter " L" somewhere in the name. When you buy it, do it by entering the laptop information. Reputable places like Crucial, Kingston, etc. will give you the right choices
