Golden 4790k 4.9ghz Temps look alright?

So I build my new rig about a week ago (some parts old, some new) and the star of the whole upgrade was the i7 4790k. Over the course of the last week I've done a little bit of overclocking and found that I'm stable at 4.9ghz with 1.29v (manual). When running Asus's realbench X264 stress test I max out in the mid 80's with a noctua d15. Those temps look normal for that sort of voltage with the cooler I'm using? Ambient temp is about 28c where in my house.

Any comments would be appreciated and thank all of you for your time!

200mhz is dirt in terms of performance... id take the 4.7 so you can have your cake and keep eating it till its time for a whole new flavour rather than run it too hot for too long and loose it before you can replace it.

gaming temps get into the high 60's and if my room gets warm it'll breach 70. Also what do you think of the voltage? I plan on keeping this cpu for the duration of my time spent at college so I don't really want voltage to burn it up.

I didn't see the edit option, thank you

Fan curve set to max out at 1500rpm under full load, and this is my second time mounting. Unfortunately I think with my TIM its as good as she'll get.
I can do 4.7ghz with 1.17v with much lower temps, it just hurts to give up the extra 200mhz haha

what sort of load temps are you getting at 1.235v? Is that with a 4690k or 4790k?

Thanks, I think I'm going to have to agree with you. It just bugs me because I've seen plenty of people with similar cooling solutions getting lower temps than me. But on the other hand I guess I've seen just as many running as hot as mine. Shame on intel for not just soldering the IHS to the chip.

Thanks again for the reply
