Ok, so, waiting until I have enough money saved, I created two entry-level gaming builds. One AMD, the other Intel. I want for a Intel Z97 board for future proofing/upgradeability, (which is kinda useless as 100 series boards are coming out with skylake) and for AMD, that 750 W PSU is also for future-proofing. Based On current performance, performance in 1-3 more years, and upgradeabiity, which would be better?

Will absolutely smash any of the other suggestions here .
Definitely avoid pentium builds . Theyre hopelessly weak even when overclocked .
Forget about updating too . Build a machine that will work well for two years and then work it out . Both intel and AMD will change sockets so whatever you buy will be obsolete .

And if you want more power then swapping in an FX 8320 pushes the price to $607

I would go for an i3 personally. Better than the 6300 in many games and then you can slot in an i5 later on and not have to upgrade the CPU for years.
