can a broken hdmi cable or hdmi port only affects image/color quality

in other words,if i accidentally broke a pin from hdmi cable or from gpu's hdmi output would it work normally but lowers image/color quality, or it basically won't work at all? cos the past few days i had to plug and unplug my hdmi cable many times, now iam afraid that i might have broken pins, for now everything works just fine,but i i feel that image quality has been lowered ( don't know if this really possible or iam imagining it,so i need answers)

It will simply stop working if there is an issue. If the cable is still working then you're fine. If it was an Analog connection such as VGA a broken pin could reduce quality/colour channels.

oh i almost forgot,well if there's something wrong with the cable or the port (not necessarily a broken pin...any flaw) can it cause unstable gpu performance (fps drops,stutter...etc)? or like u guys said it won't work at all if there's an issue ?
