Get similar ram kits to play along?

So, I have two sets of 2x8GB ram from Corsair (32gb - 4x8GB in total)
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-low-profile-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml16gx3m2a1600c10r

These two sets works well together and I have been using them in a machine that I used fort virtualization before.
I have since acquired a proper server to replace this machine and therefore I don't have any use for the hardware.

In my everyday machine I also have 32GB of ram (4x8GB) but this is a single kit. (I need this much for game development)
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-32gb-quad-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz32gx3m4x1600c10

My motherboard is an Asus X79 Deluxe with 8 x DIMM slots http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/X79DELUXE/
My CPU is an i7 4930K

So I figured I might as well put the RAM in my main computer. I do sometimes reach 32gb usage and I woulnd't mind being able to use bigger RAM disks every once in a while.
I figured since these kits are so similar It might work, but it didn't.

I know you shouldn't really expect any ram that wasn't bought together to work together, but I want to at least try.

What kind of settings can I try to make them play along? I have tested some different settings but I'm not experienced enough with this. Some of the RAM shows up as "Abnormal" in BIOS and won't work when used together with the other kit.

Also, what would be the best placement in the dim slots for the different kits?

Thanks in advance!

Was going to try this but decided to upgrade BIOS first and after that they started working. Now shows up as "OK" instead of "Abnormal". Thanks anyway! My BIOS were the quite old 0701 version and I updated to the latest 0902 version, if anyone get similar problems.

Give the additioanl sticks a try and tell us what happens, then we have a point to work from, either they will play, then we'll need to know at what settings or they won't in which case we can try a different setup (prob voltage adjustments initially) and see if we can get them to play

Updated BIOS from 0701 to 0902 solved my problem.

Edit, thought I would be able to set this as solved, but apparently not. And now I can't delete it. Great.
