New SSD Installed, Boot Error with HDD hooked up........

Decided to install an SSD finally on my gaming rig. To avoid any headaches, I went with a fresh install (Win7 Pro). Once Windows was installed on the SSD, I wiped the HDD, reformatted, and the intent is to use this as storage(1TB).

Everything seemed fine, no complications, however, some time during the Windows Updates I got the error:

Windows failed to start................
Status: 0cx000000f

Tried the repair from the disc, ran FixMbr/rebuildbcd, but nothing worked. Disconnected the HDD and the error went away. Reinstalled it, reformatted it again but the error persists. SSD is for OS and Games only, and thus the HDD is needed for storage.

Not sure what to do next. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Go into your motherboard's BIOS and verify that your SSD is your 1st boot device. If you have options for 2nd & 3rd boot devices make sure they are set to none. Save your BIOS settings and reboot into Windows. See if that helps.
