Hello,

I'm having trouble with an old Dell computer which has Vista Home Premium 32-bit installed.
The problem began with Windows seemingly booting normally, but instead of booting to Windows it went into startup repair.

I tried fixing the problem by the usual bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot and /rebuildbcd.
When I did the last part it instead got another error during boot:

0xc0000001
Info: An unexpected error has occured

I have tried doing the above mentioned fixes again, and also checkdisk.
Seatools completed a hard drive test without any issues.

Do you guys have any suggestions before I reinstall the whole thing?

Thanks in advance! /mf

Oh yeah, that I have also done. I tried startup repair from disk, and also från a Vista DVD. It says it cannot be repaired with Startup repair.
