ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer won't power up after pwr outage

I have a z97 that is about 6mnths old. it was in sleep mode when the power went out. now it won't pwr up. Upon switching the psu on, the eithernet like comes on then goes out, the kb lights blink then off, and the cpu fan will "twitch" .... then nothing, Tried a known good (older) psu .. same thing. Am I wrong in thinking the mobo is dead?

Try starting the board with only CPU and CPU fan installed. See if CPU fan spinning. If not, then yes, it looks like a motherboard issue.

Do as alexoiu adviced, remove the GPU and unplug the hard drives. If it still exhibits the same behaviour, the mobo is dead or with damaged BIOS. Also try your PSU on another computer, i had a PC with the same sympthoms and it was a bad PSU.
