I want to know i underwent the crucial updrade thing where it said my compatibility and it came up with ram that was ddr2?

i already have 4gb ram and i was wondering if i can go to ddr3 ?
as this would really annoy me if i couldnt :(

so i could not buy this mobo http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Intel+Socket/Socket+1150+-+Intel+H81/Gigabyte+H81M-S2H+Intel+S1150+Micro+ATX+Motherboard+?productId=62101 because it supports intel? why would this motherboard not support my motherboard

i have the intel core duo cpu e8400 3.00ghz

probably around 100-200 pounds as i spent money on paying for this computer thinking i could upgrade it :(
