PC Connected to Internet But Can't Go Online

So I have a custom built PC that I went and installed AVG on for some anitvirus. Well after I installed and updated the software I had no connection to internet. My computer shows that I am connected to the internet and using ping shows I am too but I can't load any website or connect to steam. I checked on my firewall and my ipconfig and both are how they are suppose to be. I have been looking through all the threads about this issue and none have fixed this issue.Any other ideas/help anyone can give me? Thanks.

Sounds like a DNS problem, try to use "nslookup www.google.com" in the command prompt and see if can look the IPs up.

If this does not work, try "tracert 8.8.8.8" and see if it goes beyond your router/firewall.
