Howdy - I'm wondering if it is a good idea to upgrade to a SLI set up. I'm currently experiencing some FPS issues running games like Witcher 3 on ultra in 2560x1440 (144mhz). FPS are hanging between 30-40 and it is driving me nuts. I have current drivers.

Should I expect to see a dramatic improvement if I added a second 780 ti? Or would it just be better to lower my graphics settings and wait for the next gen board. I've never run a SLI setup so not sure what to expect or how much a PITA they are.

My specs are below

GPU: EVGA 780 ti
MOBO: ASUS Maximus Hero IV
CPU: 4770k - OC'd to 4.3 using the ASUS auto OC utility.
PSU: EVGA 1000W
16GB ram
Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift (2560x1440 @144mhz)

Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and look up the FPS marks for the sli vs single for what you want to play.

Would 1 980 ti > 2 780 ti?

I'm fine for holding out but I'd guess the 980 ti will cost around 800 bucks and I could probably find a 780 ti for 350.

Yes and no. 1 980 will beat the 780 if they get vram bottle necked. Otherwise 2 780's (guess-timating here) are about 40-50% more power?
