Yet another nvlddmkm.sys Blue Screen of Death

Got Nvidia GTX680.

My PC bluescreens after about 5-10 minutes of just being on the desktop or web browser. (While typing this however it has not).

It used to be only when I loaded saves in Civ 5 but now it is happening more and more often. Started about 2 weeks ago. It does not happen all the time, and feels like it's only when idling.

It's a STOP 0x0116 error, nvlddmkm.sys problem.

I don't recall changing anything recently except for updating Nvidia drivers.
I have tried:
- Rolling back to older drivers, clean install with DriverFusion
- Reinstall new drivers, again clean install with DriverFusion (currently running on basic driver for graphics card, oldest driver possible)
- Expanding nvlddmkm.sy_ into nvlddmkm.sys (something like that, followed instructions to the letter)
- Editing registry to increase driver timeout recovery time
- Remove Dameon tools, Geforce Experience
- Another "solution" I can't remember

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
Intel i7-3970x CPU @ 3.50ghz (12 CPUs)
16gb RAM

I am running out of things to try. This is driving me mad. My last solution is to get a new graphics card alltogether.

I have BlueScreenView but no idea how to post dump files. I'm trying to post this as fast as possible before another BSOD.

Please, anyone, help!

Just found when I move the DVI cable around a bit, even slightly, the BSOD occurs. I disconnected the DVI from the GPU, took the GPU out then back in, and made sure to connect it properly to the DVI cable. Tightened both ends of the cable, and no more BSODs.

Hope this will help others suffering from the same issue in the future.
