i literally just got a i7 4790k and i plan to use my computer for gaming and work (such as 3D rendering)

I did a little test in Keyshot, a rendering program that uses the cpu not the gpu.. and i was seeing temps aroun 80 with a max of 84.
It seems to idle around 36-38

Is this okay, it seems a little on the high side. I am running the stock cooler, but I may upgrade to a corsair H60 cooler.

I took this screenshot during what seemed to be the peak temps and load during this test render.

i did the same render again with the same settings after i installed 3 windows updates that popped up shortly after installing the 4790k..

temps were a little lower and the cpu load stayed around 60%
max temps were 82, on two cores, 81, and 79. Stayed around 78-79 most of the time during the render. Render time was also a minute shorter.

I'll most likely add an H60, as the h80i and h100i are a bit on the big side for my mid tower 300r.

Any reason you'd highly recommend the h75 over the h60? I'm new to these things so any help would be great.
I more than likely wont overclock anytime soon, so i'm really just looking to keep it cool under stock settings for now.

H75 will cool better because of the dual fans, and seems to be more reliable according to reviewers. Don't get me wrong, if you buy the H60 you should be good, but the H75 does have slightly higher ratings as well as better cooling capability.

figured id post an update here.. ended up going the cheaper route and went with a Hyper 212 Evo

Doing this same render i had only one core hit 64*, the rest maxed at 61*
so basically it lowered my temps by 20 degrees. Pretty impressive.
