Hi everyone,

I recently built a PC and haven't bought an SSD yet, I installed windows onto a really old HDD so i didn't have to mess around with copying parts of disks when I upgrade to an SSD. This old HDD has started to get really slow and i was wondering if it would be possible to clone it onto a partition on another disk (so i can copy that partition when i get an SSD).

The HDD already has my games and data on it so i figured i couldn't just copy my OS onto it. So my question is, is there a program that will copy the old HDD onto a partition on a new HDD that already has data on (on a different partition).

You can use one of the current applications to create an 'image' of the current HDD partition.
Then (probably) use that image to port to a new drive.

Assuming, of course, there are no issues with the current install, and the overall size is significantly smaller than the new SSD.

I feel, though, that what you are trying to do is more complex than it needs to be.
