First off, my specs are :

i7-3770k
Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3
16GB GSkill Ripjaws Z Series 1600 CL 9.0
Samsung 840 Evo & 2TB WD Black's
Corsair AX860
GTX 980

So following many recent BSOD's when gaming (about 4 in the space of 2 hours) had me worried the something has gone wrong in my system. Looking on the blue screen, the problem was "Memory_Management" Some searching about and I turned to Memtest86 to scan my Ram as that seems to be the main cause for this.

So I have ran Memtest86 for almost 5 hours now and 2 passes later I have 4589 errors. Now most people on here say to run it over night to get the best results but I would say its done the job already. My question is what do I do now?

Do I unplug 3 modules and leave 1 in and run Memtest86 again and try narrow down what module it is? Also is there a more detailed log of the errors I can view within windows?

I know that GSkill have lifetime warranty on their Ram so would I need to send them the Memtest86 results or would they just accept them without any questions?

Thanks.

Check each stick individually (are they all from a single set?) Narrow it down and send an email (in the States rma@gskillusa.com else rma@gskill.com) let them know what you have, the results of Memtest, etc and they'll advise you on the proper procedures

Yes, they are all from the same set. Will do, thanks.

The whole set has to be returned; if you don't need PC, doesn't really matter other than your own curiosity which one it is.

OTOH, if you want to use your PC in the interim, you can try a pair ... or one at a time and narrow it down (stop when you get an error)....then just use the good ones until replacement arrives *.

For future reference, run memtest till:

a) Overnight

b) you get your 1st error

* Many manufacturers will allow you to keep the set and use your PC until the new set arrives, they will just need a credit card number to keep on file in case you welch on them :)
