Quick question, I have 2 sata hard drives, 1 Q6600 quad core, 2 gtx 295 in sli, 2 DVD drives, 2 case fans, 1 sound card, would a 850 watt power supply power it fine. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151108
Thermal and Power Specs
Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) = 105 C
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) = 289 W
Minimum System Power Requirement (W) = 680 W
Supplementary Power Connectors = 6-pin & 8-pin
A GeForce GTX 295 requires you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit at minimum if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 50 Amps available on the 12 volts rails.
GeForce GTX 295 Quad SLI
A second GeForce GTX 295 requires you to add another 300 Watts. You need a 1000 Watt power supply unit if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 70 Amps available on the 12 volts rails.
Thanks for the quick response, guess im not using my other gtx 295 till I get enough money. Is there any way to power it from another source perhaps there is a hookup that I can get that would filter the amount of electricity that one gtx 295 would get from the power cable hooking up to it, like a plug in for a wall socket that would only activate when the computer turns on and the 2nd graphics card is needed for SLI. Please tell me if that sounds confusing so I can try to word it a different way.
