Hello, i need some help with my case.

I want to build server pc using cpu with dual cpu xeon e5 290v2 using dual slot cpu motherboard asus z9pad8 with only using 1 slot ecc memory ddr 1333.

And my question is :
1. Can it run windows 7 normally like any dekstop pc?

2. Do i need 2 slot memory if using 2 processor? Or is it possible to run with only 1 slot installed?

3. Is there any server case or gaming case pc that cost around 100$ and fit my board (I am using Asus z9pad8 board) that you may suggest to me.

4 is there any topic how to calculate how big my server need to be? Is it clients? Or much data?

Any suggestion ?

Thank you in advanced.

That motherboard is a normal ATX spec board, so it should fit in any ATX Mid Tower or ATX Full Tower case. I recommend something like the Phanteks Enthoo Pro, a spacious case with lots of room to work in. The processors will work if you only have a single stick of RAM, but they won't be very effective because they have to share it. It would be best getting two sticks.

I don't know about the server, so sorry but you'll have to ask someone else.

If you use windows pro yes it will. Home version will not be able to utilize the multiple chip set up of this type. I would really recommend using more than one slot for ram also. Like Woody1999 said the processors will be severely limited with that setup. Also like Woody1999 said any atx case will work but you will also have to take in account for what you plan on doing with your server. If you are going to have numerous clients you will need to have enough ram to accommodate everyone. You will also have to consider how much storage are you going to need(how many drives and how are you going to set that up). Might want to set down and figure those things out before you start buying and assembling. The needs will dictate what you will need to put in the server and the case to accommodate the hardware.
