Early today my child went into the "C:\Users" folder and attempted to unhide All folders (no Idea why) but now my "C:\Users" folder is gone, and all desktop icons have disappeared. I originally thought all of the folders were simply hidden, and I still believe that, but I have no option to unhide folders from "C:\". I'm no computer expert but I have attempted multiple methods to restore the folders including restoring default folder settings, and attempting to recreate the folders but I've run into a peculiar situation that supports my idea that the folders are simply hidden. When I attempt to create new folders with the same name, such as "My Documents" I get the option to merge the folder with the old folder. So in short my question is, how do I restore my folders?

Click the Start button, click Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

I'm sorry but I attempted that and believe I referred to it in my original post as "resetting default folder options." Yea it didn't work.
Some more info in case anyone failed to look at the images... My desktop has also been wiped with the dissappearance of my "C:\Users" folder, which is crazy because I don't have the option to create a new "C:\Users" folder so I know the folder hasn't been deleted...

It looks like someone set users and all subdirectory under it to hidden. This is why you can't see the desktop icon. You need to unhide everything just how Reyaz123 described. Then you need to right click the users folder click propertys and uncheck hidden at the bottom. It will give you the option to apply to files and sub folders which you should do to unhide everything within.

Like I said two times now.. that did not work (please comprehend what you read!). I have no idea what she did but it's all fine now, I was able to find a system restore point from a few days ago and simply restored to that.
