I'd guess the latter, so I'd suggest you to take a look a this thread from the community: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/285747-32-drive-formatted Either way, if the file system is RAW you won't be able to run chkdsk, so I'd suggest you to check how the storage device is listed in Disk Management on your computer.
