Hey guys!

I have built a PC last month, installed windows 7 and drivers, then started to use it.

For a month evrything went fine, games at high settings etc. Yesterday I wanted to play something and I realized that the games are running at 10-12 FPS. Strangely not all all of them e.g.: Shadow of Mordor is running fine, Watch Dogs also, but GTA V and Mortal Kombat X are lagging like hell.

What could be the problem?

My specs:
-MB: ASRock h97m pro4
-HDD: WD5000AADS
-RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2X4GB
-VGA: Radeon R9 280x
-PSU: Corsair tx650m
-CPU: Intel i5 4460

I've done some benchmarking and found out that my HDD is readig relatively slow. In average: 23ms/data, at peak: 35ms/data

Can this affect anything?

it will be a good move to replace the HDD since its a green series and turn at 5400 rpm ...these serie are not built for use as primary storage ...but only for backup

get a 1tb hdd like wd blue or seagate barracuda

i do not say thats the problem , but it does not help

remove entirely your gpu driver and all files assiociated and reinstall a fresh and up to date driver and give a try

My GPU: His iceQX2 Radeon R9 280X

I've checked the temps under load: (also adjusted fan speeds at the first run)
CPU: 50°C
GPU: 60°C
HDD: 40°C

So heat can't be the problem. (12cm fan, factory CPU and GPU cooler with smart control)

Problem solved I guess!

I formated the HDD, and reinstalled windows and drivers. Performance is back to normal, I think.

As the source of everything I would say the HDD, since I installed the same drivers as before. Probably It's time to buy a WDC blue drive!

Thanks for helping!

If you have any further ideas, please share with me! :D
