Core i5 2400 vs Q6600?

I just upgraded from Q6600 to i5 2500 for gaming.

My ram js 8gb and GPU is 7770.

Would I feel any difference in overall speed of PC like boot up, tasks etc or not?

What about the FPS gains in games?

Would there be any in games like GTA V?

Also how does increasing ram helps in gaming?

First thing on your list should be a new gpu like u said a r9 280x would be great, after that if u want faster boot speeds a ssd will help but 1st thing on your list now should be a new gpu.

There won't be any difference in boot time since that is limited by the HDD.
Overall performance will be better with the new CPU.
Any CPU intensive game will perform better than with your old Q6600, but most games will be limited by your GPU since that is the most important component for gaming.
If a game runs out of RAM the system will start swapping memory which will result in poor performance, with your 8GB most games shouldn't have any problem.

Add an extra SSD (120G should be enough) can improve your boot time tremendously. PS:I use i5-2400 and a 120GB SSD and the boot time is 15 seconds.
