Frequent FPS drops in GTA V on good PC.

Hi guys,

When I play GTA V I regular FPS drops from smooth 60 to around 20/30 jittery FPS - this usually lasts about 10 seconds and then it will shoot back up to 60 again. It happens randomly, not caused by on-screen events, I could be standing in the middle of nowhere with little on-screen to render and it will still do it. I've noticed when this happens my GPU is downcloking by roughly 300 MHz each time I get an FPS drop.

Temps are fine, graphics never exceeds 60 degrees and my CPU never exceeds 55, even after hours of playing. I've tried looking in the Nvidia settings and tried it on power saver and prefer maximum quality, made no difference. I've don all the obvious things, i.e set power to maximum in windows, disabled turbo core and power saving features in BIOS, reset all drivers with DDU and installed latest but nothing seams to change the problem.

My friend has no issues like this, and he has a worse PC than me. Any advice?

Greetings!

Is Your HDD/SSD allright? [health wise, and s.m.a.r.t. wise]. What's Your AVS? Do You have an adware/spyware/hijackware/malware in general free computer? Please try to clean all stuff with malwarebytes and hitmanpro. Try to do a fullscan with kaspersky internet security, or bitdefender, or eset smart security.

Also, do You have at least 15-20% free HDD/SSD space on a disk, where GTA resides?

Please test Your HDD/SSD with ATTO too, for s.m.a.r.t readings, please use Crystal Disk Info,

What You describe shouldn't be caused by bad optimization of driver/and or detail settings ingame,

This looks like some different hiccup issue,

regards
