Computer won't start, already changed the PSU...Mobo the issue?

Hey everyone. So recently I had an issue with my PC that during some web surfing it just completely shut down on me. Not a warning or anything, just died.

At first I thought it was my PSU, since I heard after a while PSU's can be faulty and die.

Changed the PSU...still no luck. My computer still won't turn on, not even for a second.

So that leads me to believe it's the motherboard. The LED's on the motherboard still power on, but my computer just won't start. Click on the power button and all you hear is one click but no fans go on or anything.

Can anyone relate to this situation? I've had this board for about 6 months working until a couple of days ago.

Specs:

Asus x99 deluxe motherboard

Sapphire 7870 OC edition graphics card

Ripjaws ddr4 2666 16gb RAM

Corsair TX 750W power supply (Tried the EVGA G2 750W power supply as well to no avail, which leads me to believe it's the mobo).

Your power supplies have automatic shutdown circuits to prevent you from catastrophic damage when things to wrong. Any part in your computer that's powered, has an opportunity to shutdown the power supply and prevent it from starting.

I recommend unplugging components one at a time, until you can get the computer to start. Hopefully it's not your CPU or Motherboard. But I would start with your peripherals first.

If you have an onboard graphics available, then unplug and remove your 7870 and try starting up.

Same goes for all your hard drives, DVD drives, case fans, etc. Just do things one at a time, so you know for sure what part is bad.

I recently had a 4 month old GTX970 go bad (wasn't even overclocked). My computer just shutdown and would not start up again. Motherboard lights were ON, but nothing happened when I hit the power button on the computer. As soon as I removed the video card, all was good. Had to send the video card back for RMA warranty replacement.

good luck!

So is it possible the smallest thing is preventing my pc from starting alltogether?

I'm leaning towards something more power hungry that's causing an over-current or short-circuit condition. But the small things like your harddrives and case fans are very easy to disconnect from the power supply, so why not start with those?

The power supply has internal protection. So it if detects a bad condition, it will not start up. Anything connected to it's power rails could trigger the protection circuit.

So...I got the PC to start up without having the 8 pin connector in that powers my cpu I believe?

So does that mean my CPU is the problem or?
