I recently built a PC and I wired everything correctly. I can turn it on (fans, lights power on) but I cannot boot it, the monitor gets no output, and USB devices will not respond.

Specs:
Asus Z97-PRO motherboard
Intel i7-4790k CPU
Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB graphics card
NZXT Phantom 630 chassis
Corsair H105 CPU heatsink
Corsair RM450 PSU
Crucial MX200 250GB SSD

Any help is appreciated! I tried all the "PERFORM THESE STEPS BEFORE..." things and I don't know what to do!

Thanks!

I've had a problem like this before. But only when i had OC'd my CPU.
All i did to fix my problem was clear the CMOS by removing the little button cell battery on your motherboard or replace it, it possibly could be dead (Not a big problem).
OR on the other hand some of your components could be DOA. so if i were you do a little more research into all of your Hardware and look for simple problems you could have caused.
Hopefuly i helped :D

I FORGOT TO MENTION!
CHECK THE PINS ON YOUR CPU THEY COULD BE BENT!
Make sure RAM is correctly installed
Make sure all Storage connections are properly set up
make sure GPU has the correct power connections and is all the way into the PCIe x16 slot

! - make sure you have your monitor connected to the GPU and not to the motherboard

2 - make sure you connected the CPU power cable to the 8 pins at top left of your motherboard, and that the PCIE power connector(s) is connected to the GPU.

I don't think it's a DOA problem as the CPU light on the mobo is on and all the fans are working. My CPU heatsink fan is touching the thermal sensor. Could this cause it? I will try to reset the CMOS later.

Thanks!

UPDATE: When I remove the GPU the PC powers on, and the monitor turns on and just sorta lights up. It may be a GPU power problem. It seems that it gets some signal, but does my CPU have integrated video processing? Intel i7-4790K.

I still cannot boot. My PSU has one cord for PCI-E but the cord has multiple ports. The GPU has some PCI-E cables that go to Molex but I do not have enough Molex plugs for them.

what type of connector the molex cables of the GPU have? male, female or both?

Btw, every where I find the info that your PSU should have two PCI-E connector for GPU, so if you bought it new, this might be a good reason to return it and change it to a different model (false publicity)

The problem seems to be with compatibility between GPU and PSU. Why should he reapply the pasta? [strike]The GPU works on other computers.
[/strike] (mistaken with another thread)
Btw, your CPU have iGPU so you can connect the monitor directly to the motherboard and you should have image.

Your answer led me to recheck my CPU heatsink, and lo and behold, it was plugged in wrong :D.
