Hello, I'd like some help on this. I have a very old CD i want to copy to a new CD. I used programs like Casper ISO creator (which said disc is unreadable or something), and WinX DVD (Which doesn't let me press OK when the CD is selected.)

The CD seems to be working fine on Windows Media Player.

Also, I copied the files from the CD through going to Start>Computer>DVD RW Drive. Is it possible to use those files to burn on another disc?

There are 5 folders inside the CD. CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT, and VCD. When I try to copy it to the new CD, it says "Files ready to be written to the disc". What do I do after?

Also, when i tried to play the copied files on WMP it shows this.

After the files are ready to copy, well... Copy them. Also try to use a different video player. You should find a ton on the Internet. But if that doesn't work, then the cd may be corrupted and unable to transfer data without destroying some first.

Err, but why does playing the CD itself on media player work?

Its a video, and yes, it does work if you play the cd itself on media player. The copied files do not.

Edit: I tried burning the files to a CD RW high speed 4X-10X disc.. It failed to burn the last 30 seconds. I ejected it and reinjected it. The CD works fine, but the second time it failed (same last 30 seconds), it does not work anymore.

Each time when i put the disc in, I can hear my laptop spinning the disc, click 2-3 times, then spin again. The DVD Drive doesn't even show the disc anymore... How do I fix this? Is this because its a high speed CD? (It only limited me to one choice, which is 10X)

As a rule of thumb Windows Media Player can play almost no file types. Period.
Since the disk is a pre-package thing (im assuming) it should come with all the bits to make it play on a computer.

Try downloading the program VLC and try playing the copied files.

What is the extension of the file?
Video File 1.???
Or post another screen shot in detail view.

Edit: As a side note don't try and burn the video files back to a CD. Video CD's (VCDs) are very obsolete. Burn it to a DVD at least. Or ideally just leave it on your computer or a USB stick if you dont need it to play in a DVD player.

Edit 2: I forgot how weird VCD's were. Haven't thought of them in like 10 years haha. The reason you cant play it is because the format is .DAT, which is not a typical format.

A quick google found this tutorial. Try it out:
