which one should I get for better video editing and gaming?

- FX-8350 & ASRock 970 Extreme3, or
- I5-4460 & ASRock B85 KILLER

Solution
The 4460 is probably the better buy, but the 8350 isn't without merit. A few recent games (GTA V and The Witcher 3) are scaling well for multiple threads and the IPC advantage that Intel has always had seems to be less of an issue nowadays.

The 8350 won't offer an advantage when it comes to video editing, but when that video needs to be encoded into the finished file, that's when you'll see the benefit. That's not to say that the 4460 is bad, it'll just take longer. The 8350 also has the benefit of being unlocked, meaning it can be overclocked.

The big problem with the 8350 is longevity, as AMD are long overdue for a socket upgrade and you can bet your bottom dollar that their next processors will use a new socket. Granted, when...

Hello,

For gaming: i5, no doubt (for best compatibility, go for a H97 motherboard).

For video editing: pure software encoding/decoding benefits best of more cores, so FX-8350 (but with at least an ASRock 970 Extreme4, Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P or MSI 970A-G46, accompanied by an aftermarket CPU cooler). If your software supports QuickSync technology though, again i5 is the best. i5 is also the choice if using a NVidia GPU and a CUDA-compatible software.

Thanks for your suggest.
Actually i will use GTX 960 for GPU.

The reason why i pick ASRock, because in my country the price is cheaper even in same price point with MSI, Gigabyte, and Asus.

Granted, when Skylake hits the market it will be using a different socket from Haswell, so both CPUs are effectively on dead sockets. At least with the 4460 you'll be able to upgrade to an i7 or Xeon if you wanted faster video encoding. Your only upgrade from an 8350 is to an FX-9xxx series CPU which, due to their specialist requirements and volcanic heat output, are rather pointless.

If you want, the i5 is really the basic option here:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($163.95 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock B85 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($56.70 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $220.65

For U$220 you can get a B85 board with 4 RAM slot and a decent number of SATA headers.

Spend a little more and you'll get a hefty overclocker, with a big TDP and 8 CMT cores.

CPU: AMD FX-8320E 3.2GHz 8-Core Processor ($128.98 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($32.50 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($89.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $251.47

This will get you to around 4.5 GHz, and would be much faster for the multi threaded workloads. There's a simple solution to any CPU bottleneck too, just turn up the settings in your game.

But really, I'd recommend a Xeon. Not only is it more power efficient, the Xeon gives i7 features at near i5 prices. A 4 core with SMT (Intel calls it HT), it's bound to give you blindingly fast performance. Being the top performer, it is also the most expensive, at about U$35 more.
