Hello there. I have an ASUS R9 270 DC II OC edition which can easily overclock to 1100 MHz core clock although it taps out soon after that (that is also the maximum OC officially supported by ASUS for this card). I have two options, fisrt one is to get this PowerColor R9 270x :http://www.powercolor.com/us/products_features.asp?id=484which should be able to keep up nicely to the speed of the R9 270 when the later is overclocked, although I do not like the single fan cooler design on that one. My other choice is to get the Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X card, which in my opinion has a better cooler but according to online reviews tabs out at 1050 MHz core clock. Which one do you think I should choose?

Edit: I also find out I can get the Sapphire R9 270x also Dual-X..so now those are my three options.

The Sapphire is better, cooling, easier to overclock and looks better. It is also a better brand that's over Powercolor overall.

Also did you turn up the voltage or power limit? those setting greatly affect how overclockable your gpu is

Asus Tweaks the official ASUS tweaking tool locks core speed beyond 1.1 GHz and it is the only OCing utility I can use to change the voltage on my card. Afterburner offer higher speed but the voltage control is locked, so in order to OC with both I have to go through a lot of trouble only for the card to tab out a few MHz later so it is not worth the trouble.

There is also something I am concerned about. I know the R9 270 and R9 270x are basically the same GPU with the latter having a higher clock out of the box, however on AMD website they show that the R9 270 is only compatible with another R9 270 so?
