Hey guys, so i have an R9 290 and a 4 Gb GT 740. The 740 has been sittin around in a box for 3 months now. I am a livestreamer and i was watching one of my broadcasts and noticed it was fairly choppy. I am wondering if I could use the 290 for my playing and my 740 as the Gpu that would stream it. I stream at 720p.

I assume that offloading the streaming duty to a second gpu would make it easier on my 290 and make the stream smoother. Although, the 740 would be in a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot. Soo i have no idea.

Any help would be appreciated.

Guessing this would take having the Nvidia card using the appropriate video driver, and the main AMD card using it's correct video driver. I don't even know if this is possible.......

But interested to hear how one would do such a thing, or if it's even possible.

Bumping for knowledge!

The software is called OBS and it can choose the gpu. It is considered a 'video adapter.' No idea how running two different branded cards on the same system would work, and i assume id have to plug in a cable from both gpus to the same monitor if that even works.

But I dont know if a 2.0 x4 slot would be useful at alll.
