As it says on the tin:
I plan to add a GTX 770 4GB to my AMD A8 Richmond (full specs below) - NB: i am getting the GTX 770 for free from a freind; yes i am aware it will be held back by my APU but should still boost me from current position considerably apparently.
Currently running the below specs off of an A-550 BR (listed teir 5 on the rankings here for PSU). I am quite new to all of this but from what ive gathered so far from another thread this PSU lacks the necesary PCI-e Connectors required.
My Question is; What PSU would you recommend??
Also for my own knowledge how do I know which PSUs are compatible with my requirements; so for eg how is the PSU power requirements calculated?
Futhermore are there any strict rules when looking at PSUs (like; this brand doesnt go with AMD etc etc)?? The analogy here is think learning to tie your shoe laces, thats the level of knowledge im at =p
Notes; - nothing too high end, just enough to support the whole system well & safely enough on a reasonable budget.
Full specs:
amd a8 6600k black edition richland quad core
4 x 4.2ghz heat / sink & fan
memory 8GB DDR 3 1600 Hz
Hard Drive 1TB 7200rpm
Motherboard: GigaByte F2A58-m Socket FM2 + HDMI, DVI-D mATX
Graphics: ATi APU Up to 4Gb + ATi Radeon HD8570D
Directx 11 With PCI-e Slot Free upgrade
Tower case: ACE 550Watt Fan Front USB Free Uprgade
Win 7
Thanks in advance
Richard
