Hi, I got very high memory usage with nothing opened in windows 8.1. Here is the picture:

16% of 8gb = 1,28gb ?? Nope. If I sum all of the programs, it's nowhere near 1,28. I have 2x4gb of 1866 ram XMP.

Do you have an idea why? How to fix this? Also while I'm here... after a few hours it goes up at 20% with the same programs opened. Is that memory leaks?

Solution
Simply because of how windows works. Windows will use all available memory, until a program is launched and needs the memory.

Like i said, it is not an issue, and nothing to worry about. It is just how windows works.

If you want a better understanding of how memory works with windows, look at the best answer on this thread. (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1940391/ram-windows-custom.html)
