Please help me decide a PSU for my build, Thanks!

Hey All,

I'm building a system for my brother, and I wonder if you guys can help me with choosing the PSU.

So far, here's what I have

Z97 Asrock pro4
4690k i5
Kingston ValueRAM 8 GB 1600MHz
Samsung 850 250gb SSD
DIYPC Gamemax-W White Dual USB 3.0 ATX Full Tower
Radeon XFX r280 black edition

Can you Please help me choose a good PSU? I have a lot of bad experience with corsair, so i'd prefer not to go with them, and I'm thinking around 750w?

Hey there! I used a website called http://powersupplycalculator.net/ where you can calculate what power you need. After this build you would pick a power supply that is 500w or greater, i would have went for this 550w psu;

-XFX Core Edition PRO 550w

As this is a good psu with 5 years warranty. Should be more than enough for this build.

Question: Do i need to look out for certain compatibility when deciding a PSU?

For example, I had to find compatible RAM from a list of compatible memory on the Asrock website.

Once you know your Watts you then need to decide on quality. For example not all 500w PSU are equal, some cheap ones are terrible and barely put out 350w. This list should help you pick a good brand/model, for your build a tier 1 or 2 would be best
