Should I venture into buying the parts for my build, or wait until the new releases.

Hello, I have a certain gaming computer build in mind. I realize that new hardware comes out every year and there will be never a truly "new" PC for more than a year, because after that something new will be out in the market. Here, I present you the parts that I have chosen. I'd like to hear some feedback about either I am heading into the right direction at all with the components, and either I should wait for the new components or just go ahead and start buying what I have chose. I greatly appreciate any kind of feedback.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K or i7-4790K (not sure yet for the processor)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-Gaming 5 ATX
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 970 STRIX
CPU Cooler: COrsair H100i
Memory: Corsair vengeance 16GB (2x8)
Storage: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD + I got some already
Case: Phantex Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case
Power Suppky: EVGA SuperNova 650W 80+ Gold
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1(OEM)(64-bit)

Solution
If you go with the i7 and will wait a few weeks the 980 is likely to drop in price all the way down to the 970s current price. Then you could get the 980. (This is due to the 980ti release) Next year you could add a 980.
Go for a ASRock Extreme 4 or 6 mobo over the MSI. If you get a i5 you could possibly afford a 980. It would preform better for gaming over 970/i7 combo. If you want water cooling go with a Swiftech H240 or just get the noctua nh-d15. Make sure your PSU is a G2 PSU or it is likely to be low quality. If you do not need 16gb right away you can start with 8 and add 8 later.

Hi, I appreciate your feedback. A little update for the CPU and GPU. I am planning on going with i7-4790K, and still 970, but later upgrade to a sli configuration. I know it is ambiguous on how that would work. It wouldn't pull the 100% of both cards, but would be better than a single 980 according to some research that I have done. Also as you said a i5-4690K with 980 would perform better than i7-4790K with 970. I decided to go with a more powerful CPU because I'd like this computer to last for at least 3 years. Plus the fact that I cannot afford a 980 right now, makes me reflect on either I should get, lets say next summer, a sli 970, or buy a 980 and replace the current 970.

Alright, great news. Thanks for this information. I will need to wait a bit anyways before buying it, so I guess I'll wait for the 980 to drop!
