Recently I have had trouble with my second monitor. I've got a new graphics card with two ports on the back. The problem is one is a hdmi and the other is a dvi and for some reason the hdmi works but the dvi wont connect to my moniter even after I plugged it in it says NO SIGNAL so what could be the problem do I need to install the drivers for the card first then try plugging in the second moniter?

The first thing to do is make sure you have the most recent drivers installed from the AMD or NVidia website as designated for your card:
AMD drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
NVidia drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Then connect the second monitor. Right click the desktop, select Screen resolution and either extend or duplicate the displays and determine settings for which monitor will be primary, secondary, etc.
