use 2 diffrent speeds of ram

Hello
I have now 2 stics of Corsair vengance pro 2*4 gb 1600 mhz, but i was thinking about upgrading with 2 new stics to an total of 16 gb. But can i buy ram with 2400 mhz or does it have to have the same speed?

What is your mobo? It most likely is not worth getting faster RAM than 1600.

If you run your current ram with it the new ram will only run at 1600 (be aware if it works with it at all). The new 2400 ram is a good buy if you upgrade in the future.
