So I got my new CPU heatsink from the mail and installed it today. After installing and pulling everything back in (btw this is my custom built pc that I made, first one ever), my pc didn't boot up at all. No fans were spinning, no lights flikkered, etc. So, I assumed the motherboard was dead. I did more troubleshooting though and discovered that I didn't plug in the 4 pin connector to the motherboard correctly. I did a test boot without plugging in any keyboard or my screen to see if the thing even starts, and it did. However, once I reinstalled all of my hardware, it wouldn't turn on again. Idk what's going on. It seems to be an issue either with the 4 pin connector, which idk if thats an issue with the PSU either, or an issue with the mobo. I've had this pc since november. Any help with this?

pentium g3258
ASRock H81M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
R7 260x gpu
8gigs ram
XFX bronze 550 watt psu

also, isn't that a little dangerous??? the cpu fans were also connected when attempting to turn on my pc.

okay, i'll try that then. im a little ignorant on how to do it. Is it specific for each board?
also, another update on my issue. So i got it to turn on again while my monitor and keyboard were plugged in, but it was on some screen that was black with white text. I couldn't read it in time but it asked me to press f2 to continue. Then my computer shut off again and, again, won't turn back on. it randomly turns on if i mess with the 4 pin connection by tring to replug it in, but for some reason isn't working consistently.

another issue i had is my roomate threwout all the boxes i had for my computer parts back in december (Without my permission of course) and that includes all of my manuals. I'm looking now, but are manuals for specific boards available online?

Yes. Look on the manufacture website.
