Hey guys, so I just built a new PC and I'm experiencing a problem with my PC shutting down, specifically during Skyrim (heavily modded). The following are my components:

GTX 980 (overclocked)
i7 4790k (stock clock)
16 gb
500 gb ssd
500 gb hdd
HX 1050w Corsair power supply
Maximus Hero VII mobo
Dual monitor setup

I just don't know what is going on. I've played other games like GTA V (with my cpu overclocked) and never experienced a shutdown. I've ran all sorts of stress tests on my cpu and gpu and they all passed with stable temps. I have all the latest drivers. But when it comes to this game, I can't play 5 minutes without my PC shutting down. I looked online for answers and most say that this is related to a faulty PSU or an unstable OC. The problem is my PSU is brand new and I tried running the game with stock clocks on my CPU to no avail. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Is it just the game, or is there something wrong with my computer?

I monitored my temps while gaming and they pretty cool. Around 55C for my cpu and 60C for my gpu. Right now I'm thinking it's the PSU, but I want to explore other possibilities before dropping a couple hundred bucks on a new one. I just find it strange that I had no problems running GTA V, which is the more demanding game. Is there a way I could test how healthy my PSU is?

You could use a multimeter, if you have one, I recommend looking up how to safely do it online. Do you not have a PSU from another PC you can swap out?
