my 500gb wd my passport is slow when copying files.when i check through wd data lifeguard the smart status for the device seem ok amd got no problems.plz help me T T

Hi there jamieanderson95,

I'm really sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :(
As you are facing some HDD related issues, I would advise you to start the troubleshooting process with just backing up the data stored on the drive.

Have you tried copying a file from one location of the drive to another location on the same drive? Is the speed slow when you try that? It will not hurt to test your main drive.
Another thing you can try is to connect the drive with another USB cable to a different USB port. You can connect it to another system as well.
You can try running Disk Check as well. Check this out: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html
