MSI R9 270X Gaming 2GB good compatible crossfire card

Hey everyone,

I currently have a MSI R9 270X Gaming 2GB GPU in my system and I wanted to upgrade to a crossfire system and I've been tracking prices for this card to go on sale, but instead of it going on sale it seems to have gone out of stock everywhere. So my question is without sacrificing performance what other card 270x card would best fit with my current card?

A different card.
I do not recommend Xfire on mid range cards, as the price/performance gain is not very high. Not to mention the 2GB Vram wall you would hit.

However, to answer the question at hand, any 270 or 270x would work. Though cards will be slowed to match clock speeds, or cut Vram to meet the lowest of the two.

So you'd suggest getting what a R9 280X instead? I'm trying to stay under $300 as best I can yet still get a performance boost

If you could spare a few extra bucks look into a 970, you would get about 46% increase over your current 270x, a quite sizable upgrade.
