Right, well, first of all I am not a pc expert, however I am not a nub, I built my own pretty successfully, and it is running absolutely fine. But I have a problem; whenever I try to play the Yogbox Modpack (please don't hate me) via the feed the beast launcher, my PC genuinely struggles to run it? Like its laggy and the frames are poor? My specs are:

And fx 6300 cpu
Amd r9 290 4gb gaming edition gpu
8GB generic ram

I have no idea why I am struggling to run minecraft with a 290? Like how? The exact Modpack ran fine when I had my gtx 650 before Christmas, yet a 290 can't run it? I don't get it? Please
someone help me:( I have the latest version
of Java 64bit, I've
allocated minecraft more ram, I don't understand? Please help:(:( tyty

P.S. My PC is fine as I can run Witcher 3 at max settings fine

Edit: right thanks guys, I am currently running beta drivers as they made gta v playable: I will check for any updates and download the most recent stable ones and see if that helps - thanks

Solution
Definitely sounds like a driver issue. I recommend going to the brand's website (not AMD, the brand of your card) and downloading the latest driver from there. They're often the most stable drivers. If that doesn't work, get the latest beta driver from the AMD website.

Make sure you remove all the old drivers completely. This can be done by running DDU in safe mode, it removes much more effectively than the Windows system.

Has it always been like this since upgrading the GPU? I'm suspecting that it has to do with the GPU drivers that are currently installed. Try installing some drivers that are a little older and see if that fixes your problem. Your hardware is plenty to run that game.
