I currently started a build and its my first ever gaming PC. This is what i'm working with.

CPU: Intel Core i5 4590
MOBO: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming
GPU: Asus Geforce GTX 750
RAM: Patriot Viper 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz
COOL: Thermaltake Frio Silent 12
PSU: Antec VP550F 550 Watt

First off i just placed every cable in its respective area and I'm getting ready to turn it on. I plug the vga cable and the PSU cable in. I turn it on and nothing happens. The PSU is switched to the on position. So I start looking around but see nothing. So i was like I'm going to see what happens if I unplug the 8-pin CPU adapter, I did that and the computer powered up. I'm trying to figure out if the PSU has a short or the motherboard 8-pin has a short. But I don't know how to check for that. Is there anything i can do to fix it? I bought this set up for my birthday and I'm bummed that I can't even use it.

Any help would be appreciated
