Well it turns out my motherboard is an a55bm-a but it can from a prebuilt asus m32 so it cant support bios updates for the 860k. However I was revireing the mobo on the asus page and saw that the cpu i have (a6 6400k) uses bios 5002 and so does the 760k. http://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/A55BMAUSB3/HelpDesk_CPU/ on system info however it says my bios is 0302?

Solution
It's warranty involved. When selling systems, ASUS lock the BIOS for not OC-ing. Therefore you need a different BIOS chip for unlocking it. It might be that the current BIOS version on board does support the 760k. But if not, you'd need to replace the BIOS chip (which is not difficult).

Its pretty confusing and annoying the fact that it says my cpu and the 760k use same bios but yet the bios on their web is5002 and mine is 0302 makes 0 sense
