New build, I7 5820k vs I7 4790k. advice needed.

With what you show, go the Z97, between the two the big advantage of X99 would be A) if you went a 4 stick setup to utilize quad channel w/ the memory and/or B) if you upped the CPU to the 5930K which would give you more PCI-E lanes and the ability to run GPUs in true x16 rathe the the the dual x8 you'll get with the 5820K. It will be awhile before games really use 6 cores

Are you planning on running a single monitor or multiple monitors? And at what resolution?

Regardless of that, it's almost a wash between the two systems other than cost from everything I've read and heard. However, personally I'd be more prone to going with the x99 setup, especially if you are planning to upgrade to Windows 10 when it comes out. I've heard/read that DirectX 12 will improve up to six core performance, and games are now starting to recommend quad core CPUs as a minimum requirement, so the i7 5820k might be more future-proof.

I'll be using a single GPU. I'm waiting for gtx 980ti to come out.
