Epson Ds-510 cannot connect

I have a Epson Ds-510, was working, but now when i go to select it to scan, it cannot connect. i've powered it off, swapped cables. nothing. help. is thins thing a POS or is it me?

Try a new USB cable or network cable depending on which type of connection you're using.
