The title basically says it, I'm selling my speaker setup and current headset (limitless creations x806 and razer chimaera) to get the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset. Should I get a sound card that supports 7.1 surround as well, or should I just use my on board audio that my motherboard has? It's a gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard and looks like it should be able to do it.
I want answers on whether the sound card would be better or not strictly based on using 7.1/5.1 (since many games only have 5.1) audio in respect to gaming, not music, etc. which would be stereo anyways.
